It's fun to tie, to use these kind of flies.
Standard type flies tell me many things, and remind me my childhood when I started fly fishing.
I didn't know anything at that time. how to tie... what to use...
I swung by one of a fly shop in the town to ask how to tie flies.
The guy who was running the fly shop tied me one beautiful fly.
He was using condor quill for the body.
The fly he tied was not only beautiful, but also had a enough 'smell' that lure me into the world of fly fishing.
After 30years, I still don't know how to tie that kind of fly.
Ephemera strigata (Japanese Brown Drake)
I like to use hackle stem for the body, especially the stem has color gradations from light brown to dark brown.
Paraleptophlebia spinosa Ueno ( Japanese Blue Quill)
